 IWA 2010 and VBR-Belgium. Minimize

Lets hope that IWA 2010 was my last visit to the IWA trade fare as a visitor. I hope that VBR-Belgium next year can be present as an exhibitioner. We will do all what is possible to achieve this goal. This Bergara line of single shot rifles can be one our booth next year? It should be an Apex single shot rifle build in a modular system, by which barrels in different caliber can be changed. Of course we prefer a .30-06 barrel with a 10 inch twist and chambered for the 7.92x24 mm caliber. This should be an excellent sport rifle to shoot in an indoor shooting range at 100 meters. No over-power, no over-penetration or range damage, cheap copper plated .32 bullets and a lot of fun….!

Can we already start with a preorder list?

IWA 2010 and the Apex rifle from Bergara. Minimize

The Apex single shot rifle is a new product form the Spanish company Bergara. The Apex single shot sport rifle system uses a modular barrel system. Different barrels can be used in the most common rifle calibers. This Apex rifle is in the .300 Win Mag caliber.

The Apex rifle with camo-outfit ready for hunting.

There a two types of barrel weights possible. The heavy weight barrel and the light weight barrel.
This also changes the total weight of the rifle. Interesting for us as VBR-Belgium is that a .30-06 barrel can be provided with a 7.92x24mm chamber. This should be an excellent sport rifle for indoor use at 100 meters and it should support our 7.92x24mm caliber which is special designed for mid-range use.

IWA 2010 and Glock legal department. Minimize

In the past, we have already presented the 7.92x24mm caliber to Glock, but because it is not yet a military caliber, Glock has no interests for this project. Glock can not deny that there exists a big aftermarkt based on there product range. We regret that Glock is not very happy with this aftermarkt and does not consider this as a promotion for there products. We thank the Glock team to give us the needed information to stay out of legal problems. It is in not in our best interest to running in to the legal department of Glock firearms. To prevent legal persecution we will in the future clearly ad to the promotion of the 7.92x24mm Glock 17 conversion set, that:

"This technology is not supported or approved by Glock Ges.m.b.H.”.

IWA 2010, goes the Kriss .45 Auto with VBR armor piercing bullets? Minimize

Our love and hate relation with the .45 caliber is by a lot of persons misunderstood. Our patented armor piercing bullet technology can be used in different calibers. The .45 Caliber is to us net so important as the 9 mm or the 7.92mm caliber, only in Europe military and law enforcement agencies does not use the .45 ACP caliber. It was a nice surprise to met the Kriss .45 in full outfit at IWA 2010.

The existence of our .45 ACP armor piercing rounds sounds like tingles in there ears of the Kriss! Indeed, the Kriss with VBR-Belgium .45 ACP armor piercing ammunition should have a serious stopping power also on the most common bullet proof vests. It should certainly outperform the small calibers 4.6 and 5.7 as an entry weapon.

The Kriss Supper V System uses the magazines of the Glock 21. These Glock 21 magazines feeding the cartridges always under the same angel into the weapon. This is a major advantage to the 1911 magazines. The Glock 21 magazines allow to use our VBR-Belgium .45 AP rounds with an exposed steel core. Feed under the right angle, the .45 AP cartridges with an exposed steel core will not cause feeding problems in the Kriss Supper V.

VBR-Belgium .45 AP cartridges allows different types of hardened steel penetrators. A selection of penetrator heads can be done to achieve the best drill and stopping power combination in function of the Kriss barrel length.

The Kriss in full outfit. No nonsense stopping power in competition with the PDW small calibers when using the VBR-Belgium .45 Armor Piercing bullets.

IWA 2010 and Leonardo Penna with the 7 Penna STI products. Minimize

IWA is also a trade fare to see colleges back. Also Mr. Leonardo Penna knows how difficult it is to bring a new caliber on the market. The 7 Penna and the 7.92x24 mm are still the two running calibers left out the CRISAT time period. In this case we remember the life discussion between the performances of the 7 Penna and the 7.92x24 mm caliber. Mr. Penna has already set the step to the US market by a cooperation with STI International. We are sure that we will soon also follow that direction with our 7.92x24 caliber.

7 Penna                                                       7.92x24 mm.

Comparing the 7 Penna with the 7.92x24mm is like comparing a .380 ACP with a .40 S&W. The diameter is almost 1 mm bigger and the energy is twice so high. These are two different calibers with a different operating system and different applications.

The 7 Penna is already available in a STI International version of a 1911 pistol.

IWA 2010, the SIG SAUER and Wicke. Minimize

Some of our customers asking for a 7.92x24 mm conversion set for there Sig 226. We had a very unpleasant confrontation with the representative of SIG SAUER. Maybe SIG SAUER is a major company on the pistol market, but they have little or no respect for the inventors of new ammunition!

While the 7 Penna is already supported by STI International, we still struggling with unwilling partners to release the 1911 conversion sets in the 7.92x24 mm caliber. The cooperation between Wicke and SIG SAUER concerning the production of 1911 pistols has caused a serious delay for the 1911 conversion kits in the 7.92x24 mm caliber. We promise to find very soon a solution so that our customers which desire a 1911 pistol or a 1911 conversion set in the 7.92x24mm will soon can dispose about these products. Now that we know that the Sig Sauer / Wicke 1911 works perfect with the 7.92x24mm caliber, we hope that we soon can dispose about these pistols and conversion sets.

IWA 2010, Hofmann and Hera-arms. Minimize

Always present at IWA is the German Gun dealer Hofmann with the whole range of there products.

Mr. Clinton Baker representative of HERA-ARMS.

Nice product this HERA-ARMS GCC (Glock Carbine Conversion). Very lightweight conversion, but don’t you think that the VBR-Belgium 7.92x24 conversion set on the Glock should reduce the recoil and provide better gun stability which will improve the accuracy?

Very cool, this HERA-ARMS Colt Pistol Extension(CPE) allows the German sport shooters to use a .45 carbine for sport shooting at there range. While in Belgium dark clouds drifting again to the Belgian sport shooters, because some Belgian lawmakers like to ban these conversion sets and spoil again the fun of Belgian LEGAL sport shooters.

IWA 2010 Pistol / carbine conversions. Minimize
New for this year at IWA 2010 are the large amount of pistol/carbine conversion sets. This subject is already for a while under investigation by VBR-Belgium as a Pistol / PDW conversion and resulted in the 7.92x24 mm Glock conversion sets and our PDW design. Our Glock 7.92 conversion, which uses the low recoil caliber 7.92x24 mm is special suitable for this kind of light weight weapons systems
The Pistol/Carbine Conversion presented at IWA 2010 can be subdivided according there construction and there targeted users groups.

The HERA-ARMS GCC.

This HERA-ARMS GCC is a very light weight Glock carbine conversion which is special designed for the German sport shooting market. The GCC is special designed so that it not can use a Glock 18. This was a conscious decision to prevent any discussion of this carbine conversion set is a sport or a combat tool. This model does not dispose about a folding stuck and is clearly a SPORT shooting carbine conversion. A new type with a folding stuck is under development.

FAB Defense KPOS

This KPOS Pistol / Carbine version from FAB Defense, can be used for different pistols models (Glock, Sig,..) It dispose about a folding stuck, but it can not use a Glock 18. This Carbine conversion is very compact and very close to a PDW. It is designed as an entry weapon for tactical teams. Our Glock 7.92 conversion set can be of use for this type of weapon and should increase controllability by multiple and longer shooting series.

CAA Tactical arms RONI-G1 and G2.

The RONI G1 from CAA Tactical Arms is the closest to our vision of Pistol / PDW conversion sets. There exist different types for different weapons like Glock and SIG. This is the biggest type of all competing carbine conversions and a full vision of a pistol / carbine conversion for general use. This system is already in use by some different U.S. Law Enforcement Agencies. Al though the system has not much to suffer from muzzle jump during the full auto firing mode with the 9 mm Glock, the recoil is quit heavy and has a negative influence on the controllability of the system. To our opinion our 7.92x24 mm Glock conversion set should increase the controllability of the system a lot!

The RONI-G1 with the inserted buttstuck is still a big weapon!

The RONY-G1 with the extracted buttstuck is and feels like a carbine.

The RONY is designed for general use, sport shooting, law enforcement and military use. There was a lot of attention in the design to use accessories on the system. This makes this design very attractive. Especially the brass-catcher can be of great use when shooting the 7.92x24 mm caliber. This allows to catch the cases for reloading purpose.

IWA 2010 and Armatex smartgun IP1 system. Minimize

The new Armatix smartgun IP1 at IWA 2010, disposes about a lot of electronic safety features, a very futuristic design and a very light weight construction.

The first Armatix smartgun ano 2009 dispose just like his successor about a wristwatch emitter / receiver unit by which several function are programmable. The new model is very stylish and has a futuristic look.

Colour LEDs green, red and bleu indicate the different safety situation of the pistol. A lot of electronic devices and operations limits can be build in this system.

There will be always discussion which kind of safety situation must be needed and which dangerous situation must be prevented. The good thing is that there are serious initiatives taken to build a smartgun system. The system in his current form has two major disadvantages. At first the price and second the caliber.

It is quit normal that a new weapons system is very expensive. The estimated price is 1500 EURO. The IP1 is still made in the .22 LR caliber. This was a choice of the management because the .22 LR caliber is the biggest international market by which .22 pistols in the United States are sold in the supermarket. The question is if it is so smart to try to sell a 1500 EURO weapon in the supermarket?

New research and development is ongoing for a new smartgun in the 9 mm caliber. It is not clear which kind of 9 mm cartridge will be used, but based on the high amount op polymer in the pistol, it is doubtful if the 9x19 mm caliber will be used. Maybe a .380 ACP can be an option and of course it is also possible to use our low recoil caliber 7.92x24 mm.
