As a result of the rather positive responses to the experimental gun design which was rather meant as a machine test than as a new weapon design, in the beginning nineties a research - and development programme was started up.
|
The different categories of the weapon program.
(Niet vurende prototypes van wapens voor technische- en industriële doeleinden)
Category pistols.
|

|
This prototype was manufactured with the aim to simplify the step over from a revolver to a pistol.
The weapon feels like a revolver but it is a semi-automatic pistol with a magazine capacity of 18 rounds in the 9 x 19 mm caliber.
The first VBR conventional 9x19 mm pistol design. The most VBR pistoldesigns are based on the internal opperating mechanism of this pistol design.
It is all for a long time no secret anymore that there exist pistols for under water. This prototype of under water pistol is special designed to use in our coast waters whith sandy bottom. With this prototype is made a study about the problems of sanding form the weapon during the dive over sandy bottoms.

Model PDW-Sidearm (Year 2001)
The PDW concept (Personal Defence Weapon), is a modern vision about the needs for a new military personal defense weapon.
The PDW designs of the competition have not yet succeeded to conquer an important market share.
We have nevertheless been persuaded of it that this type of weapon haze a number of important advantages compared with a standard military service pistol.
The lack of efficiency of the small caliber PDW-cartridges has been already retrieved. (4.6x30 mm/ 5.7x28 mm)
The standard 9x19 mm NATO cartridge haze a too heavy kick-back to be efficient as a typical PDW cartridge. Especially by full automatic firing.
We have developed especially a new calibre, which must promote the usefulness of the PDW concept.
See caliber 7.92 VBR.

Category SMG.
 |
Special model developed for the standard caliber ammunition like the 9x19 mm and the .45 Auto.
The newest version can also be made in the 7.92 VBR-B caliber.

Category Carbines.

Model Carbines Bull-pub .223 (Year 1990).
As design against the FAMAS, the AUG and the L85A1 we have also developed a Bull-pub model in the .223 NATO caliber.
Given the important disadvantages of a bull-pub model we further investigated other possibilities.
As a response against the G11 with his caseless ammunition, we have made our own study about this type of weapons. The CAR 1 (Caseless Ammunition Rifle) was the first model. One of the main objectives was to increase the firepower of each individual weapon. (120 shots magazijn).
Infanterie model of the CAR with shorter magazines.
Model CASMG en de M.G. 91 (Year 1991).
The CASMG (Caseless Ammunition Sub machinegun) and the M.G. 91 had as functionl:
- a more simplyfied boltsystem.
- A limited firepower.
The moral question at that thime was; can we provide every soldier with a gun, which haze a 75 to 120 rounds firepower in each magazine?
