PDW-Sidearm 7.92 VBR-B / 9x19x5.7 mm.
The original design of the PDW-Sidearm dates for the year 2002. It was designed for our 9x19x5.7 mm Paralight Ammunition cartridge. These types of cartridges caused a very soft recoil impulse and make this model suitable for a practical use. Unfortunately, not all 9x19 mm cartridges causing this soft recoil. The heavier 9x19 FMJ cartridges are much more difficult to keep the weapon on target during full automatic fire. From this moment on it was clear that a new PDW cartridge was needed for a typical PDW use. The developments in the 7.92 VBR-B Compact calibre are the next step in PDW evolution.
The 7.92 VBR-B Compact calibre is designed to be used on the 9x19 mm frame platform. The different in bullet weight between the 7.92 AP Compact and the 7.92 FMJ bullet are much smaller. The recoil impulse of the 7.92VBR-B Compact cartridge is almost similar to this of the 9x19x5.7 mm Paralight cartridge. The recoil impulse of the 7.92 APC7.55 bullet is even a little bit smaller. With the 7.92 VBR-B calibre the practical advantages of the PDW come more to his right. The different 7.92 VBR-B compact cartridges, FMJ, AP and 2F, causing a recoil impulse from about the same level. This new calibre 7.92 VBR-B Compact provides more practical accuracy for all types of bullets.
The different with other PDWs.
From the first drawings, the VBR-PDW-Sidearm was designed as a extended pistol model and not as a reduced assault rifle. This is also the mean different between the PDW 7.92 VBR-B and the PDW 4.6x30. This extended pistol concept haze important differences concerning the dimensions of the PDW and the perormances of the 7.92VBR-B ammunition.
The VBR-PDW-Sidearm haze dimensions, which are only a little bit bigger then this of a standard Colt Government .45. The PDW-Sidearm is designed to be carried like every other pistol in a holster. A quick drawing from a holster, even from concealment is possible. This is the real concept of a sidearm, during the daily use, hands free!!! No gun swinging around your neck the whole day!!! The VBR-PDW-Sidearm is designed for practical use.
